“The lake breathes light,
Lotus blooms rise, soft and bright.
Petals stretch to meet the sun,
Then fold away when day is done.
So too, I rose to meet your call,
Each flare of need, each rise, each fall.
But like the lotus, I now know when
To bloom, and when to drift again.
Your words, a ripple—sharp, then still,
A reach for warmth, a test of will.
Yet I no longer chase the tide
Of shadows you refuse to hide.
I float where silence holds me near,
Where peace is louder than your fear.
No longer drawn to drama’s shore,
I bloom, retreat, and seek no more.”
- Elaina Porcaro

The work we put into ourselves is not a loss if it goes unseen, that’s not the point.
Throughout my 20's I held an identity of being the loyal one. Saving, defending, standing up. Until the weight of it all, ate me up.
Yes, even the strong ones fall.
But they do not shatter.
They sink,
they break,
they drift—
only to rise again.
Stronger. Wiser. Unshakeable.
